AG Press Project

The PRESS Outdoor Music Venue

August 20, 2022

Folks, we put up some lights and rented some porta potties! We started an outdoor concert venue and we called it The Press. As we wait for our architects to let us know the cost of drawing up plans for the inner envelope of the warehouse space including the sprinkler system and bathrooms needed for an indoor venue, we started the dream of having a band perform in our outdoor space. On August 13, the talented local band, Plastique opened for Pink Fuzz, an excellent band from Colorado. Farm Bureau Financial Services- Alex Reinecke sponsored the band and over a 100 tickets were sold! We are very thankful for Eric Kleiner and Krystal Kleiner-Neff of The P.E.R.K. who organized the booking, promotion and ticket sales. Andy VanMeter of Kansas Pro Sound helped with lights, Seven Black supplied the PA system and David Spiker ran sound. The Mr. K’s mobile kitchen was a delicious addition for food and drinks. It was a pretty darn cool atmosphere!

There are other band bookings in the works and possibly a Special Olympics fundraiser in September. We have to get these in before the winter months! This is an exciting start to our vision of having a place where we can invite people to be creative, showcase their talents and bring Manhattan and surrounding communities together.
